About us

How do we think about and with technology?

The goal of Humans & Technology is to act as a platform that enriches dialogues and initiatives on human-technology interactions by adopting a human-centered lens to look at technology. It encompasses how we think about technology, public opinions about technologies, the impact of technology on human thinking and on human societies at large, and the future of co-thinking with or through technological inputs. We conduct and discuss empirical research, generate new insights, engage with thinkers, and collaborate with organizations of mutual business or societal interest.

Our aim is to work as a non-partisan academic research group and an information tank in India that engages and informs the public about key aspects of human-technology interactions and the evolving relationships with technology, the societal impact of technology, and larger ethical or legal issues as we together think about the past, present, and the future. Our insights are relevant to people, businesses, society, and the nation. We are happy to work with individuals and organizations.

This portal was started as part of a project to measure public opinions about technology in India, funded by Dept of IRD, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi with the Principal investigator being Dr. Sumitaav Mukherjee (Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences) and Co-investigators being Dr. Purnima Singh (Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences) and Dr. Sumeet Agarwal (Dept of Electrical Engineering)
